How so?
Well, insurance companies have the expertise and financial capacity/appetite to underwrite the business, but lack the technical capability to reach the consumer. Retailers already service their customers with the item through their online and/or physical store, and lack the option to provide Product Protection to their customers. Risk adverse customers want their items to last longer, but can only protect items with insurance when they purchase them from the biggest retailers.
